Flying with FAAM campaign

Inside FAAM During the past three weeks, the British FAAM research aircraft has been in Kiruna for the MEVALI (Microwave Emission Validation over sub-Arctic Lake Ice) campaign. The ISMAR instrument, an airborne demonstrator of CloudIce/CIWSIR type instruments, was in the end unfortunately not flown. Nevertheless, some of us were able to join campaign flights dedicated to measurements of convective cloud and to gathering data for assimilation of cirrus effected IR radiances.

Pooja visit

This week we were joined by Pooja Mahapatra, former SpaceMaster student and now PhD student at Delft University of Technology. Besides sharing insights on SAR data processing with us, she also gave a great talk on 'Time-series radar, interferometry for monitoring ground deformation'.
